[Heavy News] SYLOSIS Set To Lay Waste To Australian Crowds - Tour Kicks Off!
British Metal titans SYLOSIS have finally landed in Australia for the first time since Soundwave 2013. But as their fans well know the wait will have been worth it!
Sylosis are set to lay waste to the packed sweat laden venues, feed their rabid fans and leave an undeniable mark on our land.
After a long stint with ARCHITECTS, guitarist/vocalist Josh Middleton is back full time and has Sylosis firing on all cylinders with Australian fans set to reap the reward of witnessing the band at their absolute peak.
From the fiery modern thrash of their 2008 debut album Conclusion Of An Age to the direct, holistic savagery of 2023’s highly-acclaimed A Sign Of Things To Come, Sylosis have proudly flown the flag for fiercely sophisticated and defiantly uncompromising metal.
‘’Sylosis take the stage and bring the intensity levels up with their savage, technical metal which is outstanding to witness. Frontman Josh Middleton is an absolute master of his craft, turning in some of the heaviest vocals you’ll ever hear, all whilst never missing a note on the guitar.’’ – Moshville
‘’Sylosis were dark, menacing and roughing it up with their slice and dice riffs. The classic windmill manoeuvre was evident as they pummelled us with prime cuts from their catalogue of carnage, igniting a collective fire in the crowd’’ – Original Rock
Watch: ‘Deadwood’:
‘Deadwood’ is an intense, riff-heavy track that showcases the band's signature blend of thrash, metalcore and progressive metal. The song opens with a crushingly heavy guitar riff, leading into a dynamic, high-energy rhythm that keeps the adrenaline pumping throughout. The aggressive vocals paired with melodic guitar leads create a perfect contrast, adding depth to the track. Lyrically, ‘Deadwood’ tackles themes of decay and inner turmoil, resonating with raw emotion.
Watch: ‘Servitude’
‘Servitude’ by is a masterclass in modern metal, blending crushing riffs with intricate melodies and technical precision. From the opening, the song sets a relentless pace, with powerful drums and sharp, angular guitar work that never lets up. The song’s mix of aggressive, growled vocals and melodic clean singing creates a striking contrast, adding emotional depth to its already intense sound. Lyrically, it explores themes of oppression and struggle, fitting perfectly with the dark, brooding atmosphere of the track. ‘Servitude’ is a high-octane, emotionally charged piece that showcases Sylosis' ability to fuse aggression with melody in a seamless, captivating way.
Watch ‘The Path’:
Their latest single ‘The Path’ is a stunning display of the band's technical prowess and musical depth. The song seamlessly combines melodic elements with aggressive, thrashy riffs, creating a captivating dynamic that pulls the listener in from start to finish. The intricate guitar work stands out, with complex solos and tight rhythms, while the vocals range from gritty and aggressive to melodic and haunting, adding emotional weight to the track.
Josh Middleton states: “The Path is about my love and obsession for heavy music. It’s all I need. It’s never been a phase or something I’ll grow out of. I’m immersed in this culture and more than anything, I am still a rabid fan! I think previously writing a song about this kind of thing would have been a no-go for me. Maybe it could be perceived as corny or ‘out of character’ compared to some of the bands previous lyrics but this feels like a very important song to me.”
