[ARCHIVE - #MusicMonday 24.12.24] Musiikkimaanantai Ja Tekninen Tiistai: Krampus/Saatana Perkele Edition.
This one was originally posted on Christmas Eve 2024, right before our old site suffered an unexpected, untimely death on NYE (RIP). For this Music Monday segment (and in the context of Christmas at the time) I decided to go full Krampus and do a Suomilainen special! There’s a whole slew of Finnish punk, hardcore, death metal, black metal from across the decades. Dedicated to our Finnish members From The Legion. Sataana Perkele!

Meshuggah. An ever-dependable, technical and progressive metal powerhouse, who’ve endured genre-trends and rejected tradition for decades now. They’ve just released a work-up/bonus-features-packed Indelible Edition of previous LP The Immutable, with digipak, vinyl and other versions available. Check the link for order details, album bio and link to music clip for reworked single in ‘Ligature Marks’. Hail to the Kings.

[Gig Review] ENFORCER @ The Leadbeater Hotel, Melbourne 25.01.25.
What an honour! Our first local review as an official outlet in Melbourne, and it could’ve been a better pick to kick things off in that respect. Sweden’s Enforcer blazed The Leadbeater Hotel in Richmond last night with a level of NWOBHM/trad/speed-metal and classic rock bombast that was transcendent, skilled and heartfelt! Read on for full the review, including sets by support acts Burnout, Aardvark and Livewire, gig footage, pics and more!

[Archive] Interview With OPETH’s MARTIN MENDEZ + Australian/NZ 2025 Tour Details.
Originally posted to our prior website, which died an unexpected and sudden death on 31.12.24 (RIP), we have revived a seminal interview from late ‘24 with Martin Mendez, long-term bassist for Sweden’s progressive-metal titans Opeth. Check the post for video interview, as well as full details (ticket links, bio, artist links, The Last Will and Testament order links etc) of their upcoming November 2025 Australian/NZ tour!

ISC Podcast Ep. 15 (Interview): NIKLAS SANDLIN of KATATONIA Talks 2025 Australian Tour, And More.
Check the link for video (Youtube) and audio-only (Spotify - available on numerous other podcast platforms as indicated!) for my archival interview from prior, now-defunct ISC website (RIP) with Niklas Sandlin, bassist of Swedish modern metal heavyweights Katatonia. In the interview, we discuss touring, thoughts on Australia in general, his perspective within the band as a long-term member and much more!

[Archive] ISC Podcast: Ep. 13: Interview with BJORN ‘SPEED’ STRID of SOILWORK.
(Archival Post - originally posted to our now-defunct (RIP) prior website on Jul 27th, 2023). I was fortunate enough to provided a third opportunity to speak with metal luminary Bjorn 'Speed' Strid, frontman and vocalist of the mighty Soilwork and, more recently, disco-lovin' supergroup The Night Flight Orchestra. See link for both audio-only podcast version and video interview, via our Youtube channel!

[Riffs] Forgive me Mikael, for I have sinned
Originally posted on our prior website which experienced an untimely death on NYE 2024 (RIP). Our main-man Hamza shared some pre-release repentance and excitement ahead Opeth’s latest full-length release The Last Will and Testament. Which, coincidentally he also reviewed and posted in 2024 on said old site. That will be uploaded soon, but for now, here’s some nostalgic album pre-release stoke for Sweden’s finest.

[Review:] Nadir - Extinction Rituals LP (03.05.23)
And another in the line-up of our archival posts, extracted from the data retrieved from our sadly now-defunct corpse of an old site (RIP isc.com NYE 2024). This represents one of the earliest album reviews conducted by site owner Brady in Nadir’s excellent black-thrash/metallic-hardcore bruiser of an LP, Extinction Rituals. Links to artist profiles to grab the now-released album within. Check it out!
